14 Apr 2001 EXCLUSIVE VIDEO INTERVIEW WITH SIR ALEX FERGUSON
The Manchester United manager reveals his expectations for his final season at Old Trafford, his thoughts on Cantona and other United greats and his feelings about the changing role of football managers and the LMA.
Having won almost every available honour in British and European football, Sir Alex Ferguson has become one of the most successful managers of all time.
He plans to retire at the end of the 2001/2002 season and he will undoubtedly be a very hard act for someone to follow.
"I always thought Eric could do the simple things well - if he got in a position to score a goal and there was somebody in a better position, he would always give it to the one in the better position.""I think there have been two or three managers that have done exceptionally well. I think George Burley has had a marvellous season at Ipswich - he surprised everyone. Alan Curbishley has done a good job at Charlton and I think Peter Reid at Sunderland has done a great job too.""Obviously next season I want to go out on a winning note. I have served as a manager for 28 years I just what to end with a winning season."
