Alan Bloor is one of the few footballers to play for both of the Potteries teams, amassing 394 League appearances over 19 years.
Indeed, it was one of the Potteries teams that Bloor managed - Port Vale. Bloor was appointed caretaker-manager in August 1979, following the departure of Dennis Butler. He was given the job permanently in September. Desite being undefeated in November, Bloor resigned his position in December 1979.
