MANAGER OF THE MONTH FOR OCTOBER 2006
Barclays Premiership

In a week that saw Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson celebrate 20 years in charge at Old Trafford, it has been announced that Sir Alex has won the Barclays Manager of the Month Award for October, after the Red Devils won all four of their fixtures, scoring 11 goals in the process and cementing their position at the top of the Barclays Premiership table.

This is the 18th Manager of the Month Award for Sir Alex Ferguson and his second of the season after picking up the first award of the 2006/7 campaign.

Jim Hytner, from the Barclays Awards Panel, said: "Manchester United continue to set the pace this season and Sir Alex has proven he is very much at the top of his game in his twentieth year in charge at the club."
