Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has won the Barclays Manager of the Month Award for the first time after steering his side to third place in the Barclays Premiership.

Four consecutive league wins and four clean sheets in November helped the Reds close the gap on Manchester United and Chelsea and extend their unbeaten run to eight league games.

Liverpool, who haven't lost a league game since October 2nd, enjoyed a 100 per cent record in November with away wins at Aston Villa (1-0), Manchester City (1-0) and Sunderland (2-0), and a dominant display at Anfield against Portsmouth (3-0).
