MANAGER OF THE MONTH FOR DECEMBER 2004
Barclays Premiership

Tottenham boss Martin Jol has been named Barclay's Premiership Manager of the Month for December.

Jol's award follows a fine run which saw Spurs collect 13 out of the 15 points on offer in the month. Two fine 1-0 away victories at Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City was followed by a crushing 5-1 home win over Southampton. Christmas saw another away win 2-0 at Norwich and a 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace.

Spurs' run saw them rise six places in the Premiership table to a position where they can eye a possible European football finish.

Nic Gault, from the Barclays Awards Panel, said: "Since his appointment in early November Martin Jol's side has only been beaten twice in the Barclays Premiership. He is often praised for being a progressive coach with immense tactical knowledge and man-management skills and his teams performances over the last month are testament to this acclaim."
