Reading manager Steve Coppell has scooped the Barclays Manager of the Month Award for September thanks to a three game unbeaten run that saw the Royals collect seven points from three games.

After successive defeats at the end of August, Coppell's side kick started their Barclays Premiership campaign with solid wins at home to Manchester City (1-0) and then away to Sheffield United (2-1). This was followed by a draw (1-1) at home to a Manchester United side that had won four of their previous five matches in the league.

Having led Reading to their first ever season in the Barclays Premiership, this is the first time Coppell has won the Barclays Manager of the Month Award.
