Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed his 20th Barclays Manager of the Month award after winning the accolade for January, a month in which the Red Devils, inspired by Barclays Player of the Month, Cristiano Ronaldo, won all four of their Barclays Premier League games without conceding a single goal. United made a flying start to 2008 with a 1-0 victory over Birmingham City, before a 6-0 home triumph over Newcastle United saw Ronaldo claim his first-ever Barclays Premier League hat-trick. The Portuguese wing wizard continued his irresistible form with a last minute goal in the 2-0 away win at Reading, before claiming both goals in the 2-0 home success over Portsmouth. The last time Ferguson won the accolade was exactly a year ago in February 2007, when both he and Ryan Giggs scooped another awards double.
