MANAGER OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY 2010
Barclays Premier League

Everton manager David Moyes landed the Barclays Manager of the Month award for January after the Toffees ended the month with three wins and one draw in the Barclays Premier League.

Having hovered above the relegation zone before Christmas, the fortunes of David Moyes’ side began to turn when they were unlucky to only get a 2-2 draw away to Arsenal in their first January fixture.  Their good form continued when they outplayed Manchester City in a 2-0 victory at Goodison Park.  Everton then cemented their place in the top half of the table by comfortably beating Sunderland at home and then putting in a work man like performance in the 1-0 away win against Wigan. Everton finished January unbeaten and are now unbeaten in nine games.

This is the sixth time that David Moyes has won the Barclays Manager of the Month Award since he became Everton manager in 2002.

The decision was made by the Barclays Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football’s governing bodies, the media and fans.
