Reading Manager Brian McDermott was named npower Championship Manager of the Month for April.

McDermott's side earned 17 points during the month to book their place in the Play-Offs.

Former Charlton Athletic boss Alan Curbishley chairs the npower Manager of the Month judging panel.

He said: "Securing vital points at this stage of the season has been fantastic for Reading.

"McDermott's men have hit form at just the right time to secure their place in the Play-Offs."

npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins said: "Brian McDermott's side have put together a fantastic run in recent weeks.

"Their Play-Off spot is fully deserved, and we wish them the best of luck in the coming weeks."
