Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet was the npower Championship Manager of the Month for August.
Poyet led The Seagulls to the top of the table with four wins and a draw from their first five games.
Former Charlton Athletic boss Alan Curbishley chairs the npower Manager of the Month judging panel.
He said: “Gus Poyet and Brighton have continued where they left off last season with a fantastic start to life in the npower Championship.
“To be unbeaten, top of the league and through to the next round of the Carling Cup makes Poyet a truly deserving winner of the Manager of the Month award.”
npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins said: “Brighton lit up npower League 1 last season and now they are doing the same in the Championship.
“They have settled easily into their new stadium and performed very well in the first five games of the new campaign.
“I’d like to congratulate Gus and the team on behalf of npower, and wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season.”
The judging panel comprises former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley, Sky Sports Football League expert Peter Beagrie, Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson, BBC Sport’s Mark Clemmit, League Managers Association Deputy CEO Olaf Dixon and npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins.
