Torquay United manager Martin Ling is the npower League 2 Manager of the Month for January.

Ling led his side to a perfect month with five wins from five games during January.

Former Charlton Athletic boss Alan Curbishley chairs the npower Manager of the Month judging panel.

He said: “Torquay’s unbeaten month has moved Martin Ling’s men into promotion contention in npower League 2.

“Five wins from five games, including three consecutive away victories, has been built on a strong defensive display.”

npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins said: “No other team in npower League 2 picked up as many points as Torquay did in January.

“Martin’s side overcame all of their opponents last month, a remarkable achievement given the competitive nature of npower League 2.

“On behalf of npower, I’d like to congratulate Martin and the rest of the team, and wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season.”
