Port Vale boss Micky Adams was named the September npower League 2 Manager of the Month.
Adam's side enjoyed a perfect month winning all five games they played in September. This form has seen Vale surge to the top of the npower League 2 table. A great month was rounded off by a vital 1-0 victory over fellow promotion contenders Shrewsbury Town.
Alan Curbishley, Chairman of the npower Manager of the Month awards panel commented: '"Port Vale's 100% record this month is a fantastic achievement. Not only did they win every game they also didn't concede a goal all month. Adams deserves great credit for overseeing this run of form which has taken them to the top of the npower League 2 table."
Adams held off competition from Chesterfield Manager John Sheridan, Bury boss Alan Knill and Stockport County's Paul Simpson to win the npower League 2 Manager of the Month award.
Sue Heritage, npower Sponsorship Manager commented : "As new sponsors of The Football League we are very excited to be involved in these award presentations. It's great to be able to recognize these individuals who are making the npower Football League such a success. We wish all the teams and fans the best of luck for the continuing season."
The Port Vale boss was presented with the npower League 2 Manager of the Month award at the Club's training ground, and will show off the trophy to fans at next Saturday's home fixture against Gillingham.
