Preston North End manager Billy Davies has been named Coca-Cola Championship Manager of the Month for January.

Preston North End continued their amazing turnaround in the Championship in January with four consecutive wins and four clean sheets. They kicked off 2006 with a stirring 3-0 win away at Norwich, and continued their current rich vein of form with wins against Millwall, Burnley and Play Off contenders Crystal Palace. Unbeaten in 21 matches, they look set to finish in the top six and give themselves an excellent chance of promotion through the Play Offs.

Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Billy Davies is having another fantastic season at Preston. His side have now put the disappointment of losing in the Play-Off final last season well and truly behind them and their long unbeaten just shows how well they have been playing. Billy deserves all the accolades for the way in which he is masterminding their promotion challenge again this season."
