Reading Manager Steve Coppell has been awarded October's Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Award in the Coca-Cola Championship.

The Royals are the closest rivals to league leaders Sheffield United.

During the month they remained unbeaten in all five games played, defeating Sheffield United (2-1), Ipswich Town (2-0), and drawing with Leeds United at home, whilst winning on the road at Stoke City (1-0) and drawing at Hull City (1-1)

Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Reading's victory over Sheffield United was a massive result not only for the Royals but for the rest of the Championship. It looked as though Sheffield United may be about to run away with things but Steve's side have pegged them back this month with some great results and now have the top spot firmly in their sights."
