Cardiff City boss Dave Jones was named Coca-Cola Championship Manager of the Month for October.
Jones’ side enjoyed a fantastic month in October with three wins and a draw from their four league fixtures. The Bluebirds kicked off the month with a comprehensive four goal victory away at Watford, before securing a solid point against Crystal Palace. They continued their impressive run with three points against Coventry City, before rounding off a successful unbeaten month with a thrilling 4 – 3 win away to Sheffield United, leaving the team comfortably in the Coca-Cola Championship Play-Off places as they head into November. Also short-listed for the October award were Nigel Pearson of Leicester City, Billy Davies of Nottingham Forest and Swansea City’s Paulo Sousa.
Alan Curbishley, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: “Dave Jones’ Cardiff City were unbeaten throughout October and he masterminded two great away wins during the month, at Watford and Sheffield United, with his team scoring eight goals in the process.”
