Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton was named Coca-Cola Championship Manager of the Month for November.
Hughton’s side enjoyed a fantastic month in November securing four wins from as many league fixtures. The Magpies kicked off the month with a solid victory away at Sheffield United, before securing three points at home to Peterborough United. They continued their impressive run with a further three points at Preston North End, before rounding off a successful unbeaten month with a comprehensive win over Swansea City, leaving Hughton’s men sitting in top spot in the Coca-Cola Championship.
Also short-listed for the November award were Neil Warnock of Crystal Palace, Billy Davies of Nottingham Forest and West Bromwich Albion’s Roberto Di Matteo.
Alan Curbishley, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: “Winning four straight games in November is a fantastic achievement and has strengthened Newcastle’s position at the top of the league. The work done in November has set them up really well and gives them a great base to go on and have a successful season”.
