Norwich City manager Nigel Worthington was today named Coca-Cola Championship Manager of the Month for December.

Norwich City were one of the Championship's form teams in December, recording five victories from their six league fixtures. The highlights saw them earn an impressive victory over promotion rivals Southampton, followed by an emphatic 3-1 win over title chasers Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. This rich vein of form saw Worthington's side rise up the league and end the month just outside the Championship's Play-Off places.

Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Nigel's been under a fair bit of pressure recently and went in to December needing a big month. His side certainly didn't let him down, producing five wins from six games, including an outstanding display to inflict a first home defeat of the season on Sheffield United. This winning run has really pushed the Canaries up the league and well in contention in the battle for a Play-Off place."
