Sunderland Manager Mick McCarthy has been awarded the Manager of the Month Award in the Coca-Cola Championship. During the month they had four straight wins, beating Burnley and Crew away, and Plymouth Argyle and Coventry City at the Stadium of Light.
Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Mick has guided Sunderland to an impressive run of victories this month and it is a tremendous achievement for his team to overhaul long-time pacesetters Wigan and Ipswich at the top of the Championship."
