Preston North End manager Billy Davies has been named Coca-Cola Championship Manager of the Month for April.

Davies capped another successful month for Preston North End by securing his side's position in the Play-Off finals for the second consecutive season. Their unbeaten run during April, which saw them record five victories from six games, helped the Lilywhites finish the season in fourth place in the Coca-Cola Championship and set up a Play-Off semi-final with Leeds United.

Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Billy Davies's side have enjoyed another terrific season and head in to the Play-Offs as the form team in the Championship. Their unbeaten run during April meant they were able to finish the season in fourth place and secure an all-important home tie in the second leg of their Play-Off semi-final clash with Leeds. This will give Billy and his players a massive boost as they look to book their place at the Millennium Stadium for the second season running."
