MANAGER OF THE MONTH FOR AUGUST 2006
Coca-Cola Championship

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones has been named as the Championship's manager of the month for August.

The Bluebirds have collected 13 league points from a possible 15, beating Barnsley, Coventry, Leeds and Birmingham and drawing with West Brom.

City lead the early table by three points after five games, other contenders were Norwich's Nigel Worthington, Wolves boss Mick McCarthy and Crystal Palace's Peter Taylor.

Jones, in his second season with Cardiff, said he accepted the award on behalf of everyone at the club.

"It is satisfying because it is in recognition that we are doing things right here at Ninian Park.

"The lads have done everything right so far and they have bought into what we are trying to achieve."
