Newcastle United caretaker boss Chris Hughton picked up the first managerial award of the new season after being named Coca-Cola Championship Manager of the Month for August.
Hughton’s side have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season, with four wins and a draw from their opening five league fixtures. They began their campaign with a well earned point away at West Bromwich Albion and followed this up with back-to-back home wins over Reading and Sheffield Wednesday respectively. Further victories followed over Crystal Palace and Leicester City to cap a fine month and leave the Magpies as the early leaders of the Coca-Cola Championship.
