MANAGER OF THE MONTH FOR SEPTEMBER 2006
Coca-Cola Championship

Colchester United manager Geraint Williams has been named Coca-Cola Championship Manager of the Month for September.

Colchester United continued their terrific start to life in the Coca-Cola Championship, remaining unbeaten during the month, with a record of three wins and two draws from five league games. The undoubted highlight saw Williams' men defeat local rivals Ipswich Town to register their first league victory over their East Anglian neighbours for almost 50 years.

Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Geraint Williams is doing a fantastic job at Colchester. It was a difficult opening month or so for him as he only got appointed just before the start of the season and lost a couple of key players in the August transfer window. But the U's have produced some fantastic performances in September and Geraint deserves all the plaudits for the way in which he has masterminded their superb unbeaten run."
