Burnley manager Owen Coyle has been named Coca-Cola Championship Manager of the Month for September.

After a difficult opening to the season Burnley enjoyed an excellent September, recording four wins and a draw from their five league fixtures. This impressive unbeaten run began with victory over Nottingham Forest and was followed by a home win over Blackpool and a share of the points against Swansea City. The Clarets rounded off the month in style by defeating local rivals Preston North End before twice coming from behind to snatch all three points against Watford.

Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Burnley had a tough opening to the season, losing comprehensively to both Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich in August. But Owen Coyle's side have re-discovered their winning form in recent weeks, notching up excellent victories over the likes of Preston and Watford to keep them firmly in touch with the chasing pack at the top of the Championship."
