Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez has been named Coca-Cola League 1 Manager of the Month for October.

Martinez's men were in fantastic form throughout October, securing wins in each of their four league games. The Swans began the month with a home win over Swindon Town followed by away victories over both Bournemouth and Yeovil Town. The undoubted highlight of the month for Martinez was the emphatic five goal victory his side produced over the then league leaders Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road. The Swans excellent unbeaten run now sees them challenging for top spot in Coca-Cola League 1.

Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Roberto Martinez is doing a fantastic job at Swansea. His side have enjoyed a great month, with three of their four victories coming away from The Liberty Stadium. Their 5-0 win over high-flying Leyton Orient was an outstanding display and made everyone in League 1 stand up and take notice of The Swans promotion ambitions this season."
