Millwall manager Kenny Jackett was named Coca-Cola League 1 Manager of the Month for October.
Millwall enjoyed an excellent unbeaten month, winning four and drawing one of their five league fixtures. They began October in outstanding goal-scoring form, recording comprehensive wins over both Tranmere Rovers and Stockport County. But, the Lions undoubted highlight was their victory over top-of-the-table Leeds United, a result which was followed by a further three points against high-flying Colchester United to ensure Jackett’s men ended the month in the Play-Off places in Coca-Cola League 1.
Also short-listed for the October award were Paul Ince of Milton Keynes Dons, Paul Lambert of Norwich City and Southampton’s Alan Pardew.
Alan Curbishley, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: “Kenny Jackett had an unbeaten run in October and Millwall beat top of the table rivals Leeds United and Colchester United. Kenny has really put Millwall in the mix with the promotion hopefuls with his side’s results this month.”
