Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has been named Coca-Cola League 1 Manager of the Month for March. Bristol City enjoyed another hugely successful month in March, registering five wins from their seven league games. Johnson's side took maximum points from two of their four home games but it was their form away from Ashton Gate which was most impressive, with just a single goal conceded in the victories at Chesterfield, Crewe Alexandra and Doncaster Rovers. The Robins final game in March saw them take a share of the points against promotion rivals Nottingham Forest to keep them on course for promotion to the Coca-Cola Championship. Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Gary Johnson's side needed a big March and they certainly delivered. Scunthorpe were beginning to get away from the chasing pack but the Robins results during the month have ensured they have remained in striking distance of the League 1 leaders. Gary will now feel his side have every chance of taking the title race down to the wire in the final few games of the season."
