John Ward of Carlisle United has received the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month award for March in Coca-Cola League 1.

Carlisle United were the form side throughout March, remaining unbeaten in their seven league fixtures. The month started well with consecutive wins over promotion contenders Nottingham Forest and Brighton & Hove Albion and continued with further wins against Luton Town, Leyton Orient and Northampton Town. 17 points from a possible 21 during March means that John Ward's side are now in prime position to claim the second automatic promotion place in Coca-Cola League 1.

Chris Kamara, said: "Carlisle have been on a fantastic run in March with five wins from seven league games. Their form has kept them in touch with Swansea City and the Cumbrians are now in with a great chance of automatic promotion."
