Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson has been named Coca-Cola League 1 Manager of the Month for March.

Ferguson's men hit top form in March, winning all six of their league fixtures. Their month began with back to back victories away at Leyton Orient and Hartlepool United before netting three points at home to Scunthorpe United and Northampton Town respectively. Their excellent run continued with three points at Bristol Rovers before ending the month with an impressive victory against title rivals Leicester City, which leaves the Posh challenging for top spot in Coca-Cola League 1 as they head into April.

Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Darren Ferguson's team had an outstanding month. They had tricky fixtures including the leaders Leicester but overcame everything put in front of them. Ferguson is a young manager but gets better and better as the months go on, and they've now given themselves a great chance of playing in the Coca-Cola Championship next season."
