Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has been named Coca-Cola League 1 Manager of the Month for April.

Gary Johnson's Bristol City were in impressive form throughout April, winning five of their six games to extend their unbeaten run to 13 league matches. The highlights saw them record home victories over Yeovil Town and Oldham Athletic as well as producing some fine displays on the road, including comprehensive 3-0 away wins at both Walsall and Tranmere Rovers. This excellent points haul saw the Robins end the month just outside the Play-Off places in Coca-Cola League 1.

Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Gary Johnson endured a tough start to life at Bristol City earlier this season but his side have now put this behind them and have been in terrific form over the past few weeks. Unfortunately it looks like they will just run out of games to be able to catch the Play-Off sides but their long unbeaten shows what they are capable of and should give everyone at the club great optimism for next season."
