Huddersfield Town boss Lee Clark was named Coca-Cola League 1 Manager of the Month for April.
Clark’s side enjoyed a terrific month in April, picking up 15 points from a possible 18. They kicked-off the month with back-to-back victories over Wycombe Wanderers and Oldham Athletic. The Terriers then showed tremendous character against Walsall, with two stoppage time strikes securing an amazing 4-3 victory. Clark’s men ended a fantastic month with a comprehensive 6-0 win at Stockport’s Edgeley Park to cement their place in the Coca-Cola League 1 Play-Offs.
Also short-listed for the April award were Dave Penney of Oldham Athletic, Alan Pardew of Southampton and Wycombe Wanderers’ Gary Waddock.
Alan Curbishley, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: “Huddersfield have enjoyed another outstanding month under the guidance of Lee Clark. Their five victories helped cement their place in the League 1 Play-Offs and the Terriers will go into their semi-final clash later this month full of confidence as one of the form sides in the division.”
Chris Hughton of Newcastle United won the award in the Championship and Steve Cotterill of Notts County was given the League 2 accolade.
The decision to present the Coca-Cola League 1 Manager of the Month award was made by the Coca-Cola Awards panel. Headed by Alan Curbishley the panel also includes former World Cup referee Jack Taylor, on behalf of The Football League, Olaf Dixon of the League Managers Association and Steve Watts, Marketing Assets Manager, Coca-Cola Great Britain.
