Leicester City's Nigel Pearson has picked up the first managerial award of the new season after being named Coca-Cola League 1 Manager of the Month for August. Pearson's side have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season, with three wins and a draw from their opening four league fixtures. A home win against Milton Keynes Dons on the first day of the season was followed up with a creditable away draw against Stockport County. Further wins against Tranmere Rovers and away at Cheltenham Town leave them top of the league on goal difference heading into September. Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: ""Dropping down to League 1 was always going to put pressure on the side, with the added weight of expectation, but Leicester's start to the season has been tremendous, with only one goal conceded in the league. They'll be hoping that their experienced players, including Steve Howard, who was playing in the Premier League last season, can make sure they maintain this good start."
