Swindon Town manager Paul Sturrock has been named Coca-Cola League 2 Manager of the Month for January. Paul Sturrock has put Swindon Town back on course for automatic promotion since his arrival in November. The Robins enjoyed an outstanding January, registering four wins from five league games, including home victories over both Wrexham and Macclesfield Town. Their form away from the County Ground was just as impressive, with a New Year's Day win at MK Dons followed by maximum points at Boston United. This unbeaten run has seen Swindon Town remain firmly in the hunt for the Coca-Cola League 2 title. Also short-listed for the January award were Paul Trollope of Bristol Rovers, Danny Wilson of Hartlepool United and Stockport County's Jim Gannon. Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Paul Sturrock has a proven track record in The Football League. He did a terrific job at Plymouth and revived a sleeping giant by gaining promotion for Sheffield Wednesday. He came to Swindon in November when their promotion charge was faltering but has used all his managerial experience to get the Robins back to winning ways and keep them on course for League 1 football next season."
