Carlisle United manager Paul Simpson has been named Coca-Cola League 2 Manager of the Month for December.

Carlisle United were in impressive form during December, winning three and drawing two of their five league games. They began the month with an emphatic 4-0 away victory over Rushden & Diamonds and went on to take maximum points off both Wrexham and Rochdale. This unbeaten run sees the Blues still firmly in contention for the top spot in League 2.

Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Carlisle have enjoyed another tremendous month and are getting better and better. They were unbeaten in December and Paul deserves all the accolades for the way in which he is masterminding the Blues' title charge in their first season back in The Football League."
