Macclesfield Town manager Paul Ince has been named Coca-Cola League 2 Manager of the Month for December. Ince has completed a remarkable reversal of Macclesfield Town's fortunes since taking over in October, leading the Silkmen on an unbeaten run of eight league games. December saw his side record an outstanding five wins from six league games, including victories over local rivals Chester City as well as Torquay United, themselves fighting to retain their Football League status. This points haul helped Macclesfield Town end the month by moving off the bottom of Coca-Cola League 2. Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel said: "Paul Ince has engineered a remarkable turnaround in fortunes at Macclesfield. When he took charge in October the Silkmen were without a win all season and looked certain to lose their Football League status. But in the space of a few weeks he has got his side playing with great confidence, masterminding a phenomenal unbeaten run with only goal difference now preventing them from moving out of the League 2 relegation zone."
