Sammy McIlroy's men enjoyed a hugely successful February, remaining unbeaten in their seven league fixtures. They began the month with an outstanding home win over league leaders Brentford before going on to register a share of the points against Lincoln City and a win over Chester City. Their form away from Christie Park was equally impressive and included back-to-back victories over Aldershot Town and Grimsby Town to leave the Shrimps in the top half of the league table.
Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "Sammy McIlroy continues to work wonders at Morecambe. Given the financial constraints at the club he has one of the smallest squads in League 2, so for them to have played seven games in the month against some tough opposition and remained unbeaten is testament to his skill as a manager."
