Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson has been named Coca-Cola League 2 Manager of the Month for March.

Richardson's men enjoyed a busy, but hugely successful, March picking up five wins and three draws from their nine league fixtures. They began the month with a victory at title challengers Bury before grabbing a share of the spoils away at Wycombe Wanderers.

Their impressive run continued with highlights including victories against Grimsby Town, Rochdale, Port Vale and a remarkable three points away at league leaders Brentford. Draws against Dagenham & Redbridge and Aldershot Town added to a fantastic points return, which leaves the Spireites challenging for the Coca-Cola League 2 Play-Off places as they head into April.

Chris Kamara, chairman of the Coca-Cola Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "18 points from nine games in the month was a great haul for Lee Richardson's team. They've got a small squad, but have gone on a good run and have now got an outside chance of getting into the Play Offs."
