Steve Staunton was most recently a Match Assessor at Sunderland.

Staunton won 102 caps for his country and held the record for the most number of international caps for the Republic of Ireland.

As well as managing the Republic of Ireland, Staunton assisted Gary McAllister at Leeds United before he took up coaching roles at Wolves as well as with Aston Villa's youth team.

Staunton later managed Darlington after being appointed manager on October 5, 2009.

The appointment was Staunton's second managerial post after he took charge of the Republic of Ireland national team from January 2006 to October 2007.

Darlington and Staunton parted company in March 2010 before he joined Sunderland.

As a player, he had two spells with Liverpool and Aston Villa and also represented Bradford, Crystal Palace, Coventry and Walsall. With Liverpool, Staunton won a league title, The FA Cup and the League Cup twice.
