LG PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: HOWE’S CLINICAL BOURNEMOUTH HIT HULL FOR SIX
The League Managers Association’s five-man panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, has determined that the LG Performance of the Week Award should go to AFC Bournemouth following their emphatic 6-1 victory against Hull City on Saturday 15th October 2016.
The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,000 competitive matches in professional football.
AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe will receive a celebratory bottle of champagne, courtesy of Tanners Wines, and a LG Performance of the Week trophy in a presentation to commemorate the result.
AFC Bournemouth produced a memorable display at Vitality Stadium to earn their biggest ever Premier League victory, overcoming Hull City in a 6-1 win.
Charlie Daniels opened the scoring after just five minutes in a rampant Cherries performance, before Ryan Mason cancelled the goal out just after the half-hour mark. However, the Cherries were able to make their chances count with goals from Steve Cook, a Junior Stanislas brace, Callum Wilson and Dan Gosling giving Eddie Howe’s men their first six goal haul since 2004.
