LG PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: BRISTOL CITY
The League Managers Association five-man Performance of the Week panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that this week the LG Performance of the Week Award should go to Bristol City following their excellent 6 - 0 victory against Bradford City in the Sky Bet League 1 on Tuesday 14th April 2015.
The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,000 competitive matches in professional football.
Robins manager Steve Cotterill will receive a specially commissioned trophy made by world renowned silversmiths and LMA Partner, Thomas Lyte of London, in a presentation to commemorate the award.
Bristol City became the first team to win promotion in the Football League, clinching it with their 12th away win. Goals from James Tavernier and Joe Bryan before the break gave a secure platform for a stunning victory. Luke Ayling, Aden Flint, Tavernier and Aaron Wilbraham added goals to ensure Bristol City went up in style.
City manager Cotterill is already setting his sights on the future, “Hopefully it’s the start of something big for Bristol City.
“Our supporters have been magnificent at home and away this season, I can’t speak highly enough of them.
“We’re going to go to some good clubs and if we can replicate our football a level up, that will be great.”
