The former Leicester City manager Peter Taylor has stepped in at managerless Southend United to help the club after the departure of Dave Webb.
There has been no suggestion made that Taylor is going to succeed Webb, who had invited the former Shrimpers boss back to Roots Hall, where he was manager for two seasons, to hold a one-off training session.
Taylor never had the chance to accept the invitation because Webb left Southend before he could take the session but the club still wants the ex-England man to take a training session despite Webb's departure and the coach has gladly accepted the offer.
Although there has been no confirmation or denial that Taylor's return to Southend will turn into anything more permanent, Taylor is happy to keep himself busy while he decides what will be his next move.
"It will get me out of the house and take my mind off things," Taylor told the Times.
"I feel I have a lot of qualities and am determined to prove Leicester wrong for letting me go.
"I have heard there might be a couple of things coming up but there have been no real offers." www.leaguemanagers.com/news/1096/WEBB+LEAVES+ROOTS+HALL+AFTER+RETHINK.htmlClick here to see the report on Dave Webb's departure from Roots Hall.
