Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson reckons that Brazillian international midfielder Kleberson is more than capable of filling the boots of recently-departed Juan Sebastian Veron.
The 2002 World Cup winner is set to become United's fourth summer signing next Tuesday, provided there are no problems with his work permit application.
After several outstanding performances for his country, Ferguson believes that the 24-year-old has what it takes to set the Premiership alight: "He is young, athletic, creative and quick and we certainly think he is one of the most progressive young players in Brazil at the moment," he told the Manchester Evening News.
He will join other United new-boys Cameroon international Eric Djemba-Djemba, ex-Sunderland striker David Bellion and American goalkeeper Tim Howard at Old Trafford.
And with the capture of younger players like Bellion and Kleberson, Ferguson admits that he has been striving to reduce the average age of his squad: "We don't have that many in their 30s now, only Roy Keane, Fabien Barthez, Ryan Giggs and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but there is a group below them as well with great experience.
"When you are thinking about the future it is easier to construct your model with younger players so we had to look at that 22-23 age group."
Djemba-Djemba and Bellion both played in the 3-1 defeat by Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday, but the United boss sees immense potential in his young stars: "He is 20 and he is a young 20 really," the Old Trafford boss said of Bellion.
"He has got a lot of football to learn but I am sure in two years he will be a big asset for us. He is a very skilful and quick attacker."
"Eric Djemba-Djemba has broken into the Cameroon team and played all their games and he is only 22. He has a long future in front of him but he is very much the present also."
Ferguson looks set to try out his young stars in this Sunday's showpiece Community Shield against fierce rivals Arsenal at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
