Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has become the latest manager to suffer the wrath of the FA's disciplinary committee.
The Pompey chief was charged with 'alleged use of abusive and/or insulting words to a match official' on Monday, following a spat with referee Andy D'Urso during last Saturday's 0-0 Premiership game at Wolves.
D'Urso sent Redknapp to the stands after he made comments to fourth-official Lee Mason about the number of yellow cards that were issued during the game.
But with an unblemished 25-year record in management, Redknapp was quick to defend himself: "I just questioned the referee's overall performance which I thought was inept," he said.
"Every game I see this season has had seven or eight bookings. I think it's frightening. if you have that many bookings you would think it had been a war.
"If it carries on like this we're going to end up with no squad in a month's time because they will all be suspended."
"It's the first time I have been sent to the stand in 25 years," he fumed.
But after labelling D'Urso 'inept', Redknapp is facing a touchline ban and has 14 days to respond to the charge.
This news ruined a good day for the newly-promoted Premiership highfliers, who strengthened their squad with the deadline-day arrivals of goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek and West Brom striker Jason Roberts.
