SIR ALEX TAKES OVER

Manchester United’s ninth straight Premiership win, 2-0 at home to Arsenal, a reult that earned the club the F&C Performance of the Week Award, has also seen Sir Alex Ferguson take over as the leader of the Fourth Quarter of the Tissot League. He has a six-point lead over Gary Johnson who has moved up four places to second after his Bristol City team won 3-0 at Walsall.

Last week’s leader Harry Redknapp slips to third after Portsmouth’s 2-2 draw at home to Blackburn Rovers.

Rafa Benitez remains in fourth spot, after Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers.

Biggest climbers are Reading’s Steve Coppell up to sixth from joint eighteenth and Southend United Steve Tilson up to tenth from fifteenth.

In the ongoing table, Reading’s 5-2 away to Cardiff City has seen Steve Coppell stretch his lead from six to seven points over Jose Mourinho.

Sir Alex Ferguson is a further point behind in third place, whilst Rafa Benitez remains in fourth place, a full seventeen points behind.

Highest climber is Billy Davies now in joint 12th place up from joint 18th. Martin Ling is a new entry in the Top 20 in joint 17th position.
