Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has won the Barclays Manager of the Month Award for August, and Ryan Giggs the Barclays Player of the Month Award.
The award comes after the Red Devils soared to the top of the Barclays Premiership with three victories, scoring 10 goals in the process.
Incredibly, this is the first time Giggs has won the Player of the Month Award, despite making more than 600 appearances for United.
It is, however, the 17th Manager of the Month Award for Sir Alex Ferguson. United are unbeaten at Old Trafford on the first day of any Premier League campaign, and kicked off this Barclays Premiership season with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Fulham.
After three games, United are sitting pretty at the top of the Barclays Premiership, two points clear of Portsmouth.
The win against Fulham and a 2-1 victory at Watford sandwiched a 3-0 triumph at Charlton Athletic as Ferguson's men sent out a clear message of intent to their title rivals.
Jim Hytner, from the Barclays Awards Panel, said: “Ferguson and Giggs' awards are testimony to the fantastic manner in which United have opened the new campaign, playing an exciting brand of fast and attacking football.
