SIR ALEX HEADS FOR HOME

As we enter the last month of the season Manchester United’s Sir Alex Ferguson has stretched his lead at the top of the LMA Managers Performance League from two points to fourteen over second placed Jose Mourinho, following the Reds 4-2 win at Everton, combined Chelsea’s 2-2 draw at home to Bolton Wanderers.

Simon Grayson has replaced Rafa Benitez in third place five points behind, following Blackpool’s 3-1 win over Coca Cola League One Champions Scunthorpe United, the Tangerines already having confirmed their participation in the play-offs.

Roy Keane moves up to fourth a further eight points behind, after Sunderland’s 3-2 win over Burnley, a result that twenty four hours later, confirmed their promotion to the Barclays Premiership.

Rafa Benitez drops to fifth, a further five points in arrears after his weakened Liverpool team lost 2-1 at Portsmouth.

This week’s biggest climber Colin Calderwood up to seventh from thirteenth place, following Nottingham Forest’s 3-1 win at Leyton Orient.

Highest new entry is West Ham United’s Alan Curbishley, in at 10th, after a 3-0 victory at Wigan Athletic, a result that breathed life into their hopes of avoiding relegation.

At the top of the ongoing table Sir Alex Ferguson now has a four point advantage over Jose Mourinho.

Third place is a four-way tie between Arsene Wenger, Rafa Benitez, Nigel Adkins and Steve Bruce, all a massive twenty five points behind second place
