Sir Alex Ferguson has received more silverware and a trip to Humber Valley Resort in Canada on the eve of the new Barclays Premier League season.
The Manchester United manager was presented with the Newfound Resorts LMA Managers Performance annual award for the 2006-07 season.
The prestigious award is recognition for Ferguson’s achievement in guiding United to the Barclays Premiership crown last season. Sir Alex won two of the four quarterly awards and beat Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho into second place in the rankings.
Scunthorpe United manager Nigel Adkins finished third after steering the Irons into the Coca Cola Championship.
John Barnwell, Chief Executive of the LMA, said: “Sir Alex had a great season in all aspects of football management and thoroughly deserves to come out on top.
“These awards are keenly contested among our managers and take into account all the different challenges faced by our membership irrespective of whether they are in the Premier League or League Two.
“Again, we have seen managers achieve quarterly and annual success in these awards from all four professional divisions.
“This demonstrates the tremendous depth and pool of managerial quality we have in our professional game.”
Throughout the season, Birmingham’s Steve Bruce and Blackpool’s Simon Grayson also both won quarterly awards.
Sir Alex received his award from John Black of Newfound Resorts, who said, “Sir Alex certainly deserves the award after the successful year behind him. Our Canadian retreat, Humber Valley Resort is the ideal place for him to take a break from the pressure of premiership management.”
Newfound Resorts will be the official title sponsors of the awards for the 07-08 season.
