FERGUSON NECK AND NECK

With the Second Quarter of the Newfound Resorts Managers' Performance table reaching the home straight, an exciting conclusion is in sight, with Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United just one point ahead of Everton’s David Moyes.

With the Reds winning 1-0 at Lancashire rival Liverpool and Everton winning 2-0 at West Ham, both teams are in great form going into the busy holiday period.

In third place is Avram Grant, five points adrift of second place following their 1-0 defeat at Arsenal. Rafa Benitez if fourth a further eight points behind.

Highest riser is Roberto Martinez who moves up to ninth from thirteenth after his Swansea City side beat promotion rivals Southend United 3-0.

Best placed new entry is John Ward, into 13th place after Carlisle beat high-flying Leyton Orient.

In the ongoing league table, Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger leads the way, seven points ahead of Sir Alex Ferguson in second place with Avram Grant in third spot just one place behind.
