SWINDON APPOINT WILSON

Danny Wilson has been appointed the new manager of Coca-Cola League One side Swindon Town.

Wilson, 48, recently left Hartlepool United earlier this month after two-and-a-half years in charge.

Assistant manager Dave Byrne, had been in caretaker charge following Maurice Malpas's departure on 14 November.

Wilson has previously been in charge of Barnsley, Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol city, MK Dons, Hartlepool and now Swindon becoming his sixth managerial appointment.

Wilson will take charge for the first time in Sunday's visit of Brighton to the County Ground.
