Barnsley and Simon Davey have parted company after he spent two-and-a-half years in charge at Oakwell.
Davey became the manager of Barnsley on December 31, 2006 after a spell as caretaker manager. Previously, Davey was the Academy Manager at Oakwell joining in the summer of 2006.
During his time in charge, Davey led Barnsley to The FA Cup semi-final at Wembley in 2008 with an impressive cup run which included famous victories over Liverpool and Chelsea.
Simon Davey earned the UEFA 'Pro' Licence in 2005 and holds an impressive CV that includes the Academy Managers Licence and UEFA 'Youth Licence.'
A club statement said;
"Barnsley would like to place on record its sincere thanks for all the hard work Simon has put in during his tenure as manager.
"We would like to wish him every success in the future."
