17 Feb 2010 BRADFORD APPOINT TAYLOR
Bradford City have appointed Peter Taylor as their new manager.
A statement on the club website read;
"After intense media speculation, Bradford City Football Club are delighted to officially announce the appointment of Peter Taylor as the 39th manager of the Bantams.
"Taylor beat off competition from several other experienced coaches to land the position, which has been vacant since the departure of City legend Stuart McCall nine days ago.
"He will take up the first team reins with immediate effect, with his first match as Bantams boss scheduled to take place at Accrington Stanley this Saturday.
"The 57 year old will sign a three month contract at Valley Parade this morning, which will tie him to the football club until the end of the season.
"This deal can and will be extended should both parties feel happy with proceedings between now and the conclusion of this current campaign."
Taylor has enjoyed a successfull managerial career, in which time he has won five promotions as a manager and been involved with the international set-up both as a player and a coach.
